One of the most causative factors of increasing usage of steel composite roofs in construction projects is economical benefits of this technology from different aspects.
1-1 Reduction in slab thickness
Considering equal spans, final thickness of this method is less than so called reinforced concrete slabs and composite.
1-2 Reduction in concrete consumption
Efficient shape of the section makes it possible to substantially reduce the amount of consuming concrete compared to equal slab which finally decrease the roof’s dead load, seismic force and sizes of other structure elements.
1-3 Reduction in steel consumption
In this method, steel composite sheet act as the lower slab rebar and as the result there is no need to add rebar usually except for minimum heat rebar. This issue might eliminate the expenditure of rebar and rebar performance.
1-4 Pilling elimination
Steel sheets can bear new concrete and performing equipments weights according to their types up to 5.5 meter-span. In other words, this feature increases the distances between piles or eliminates pilling stage. Therefore steel composite roof, in which some secondary beams are located in the main span, needs no pilling and secondary beams can be placed up to 3m distance of each other.
1-5 Shuttering elimination
Performing steel composite roofs there is no need to downer slab shuttering and these sheets act as shuttering by themselves during concreting which undoubtedly would omit the shuttering related expenditures such as installing the shuttering, regulation, removing the shuttering, oiling, supervising and controlling the thorough installation of the shuttering.
1-6 Mixture of steel and concrete
Installation of shear stud on the beams in steel structures results in linked versatility between concrete and steel, this operation makes it possible to use one part of the slab section in composite beam compound section and eventually reduces the beam section weight.

Light weight of the sheets in long lengths causes convenient carrying, movement in long altitude and installation. Regarding minimum required human work force to install it, performing expenditures would decrease.
